Pulaski County Health Department
This 22,000-sq. ft. (1st floor – 16,450 sq. ft.; basement – 5,500 sq. ft.) healthcare facility is designed with a central core which is the main architectural focus of the center. A covered front entrance leads to a spacious waiting area with large windows, high ceilings and a children’s activity area. A curved reception desk is flanked by 8 computer-ready check-in stations at the business area with work space including built-in-storage and work counters, mobile filing-systems and 2 check-out areas to serve exiting patients. Beyond the business area is a staff support area that provides a full kitchen/break area, flexible office space, an exercise area with lockers, restrooms and shower facilities, and space for staff research or meeting centers. The classic red brick and limestone accent the exterior facade and has low-profile roof lines which eases the building into the surrounding neighborhood. MSE was responsible for architectural and civil engineering design for this project.
