Madison County Health Department
This 12,400 sq. ft. facility was designed to provide office and meeting space for the administrative departments of the existing health clinic. The main entrance into the L-shaped building leads to an open waiting area which accommodates visitors to the large multi-purpose room. This 1,200-sq. ft. room features a movable partition wall to add flexibility for community education, staff training or social functions. A large storage room for tables and chairs is adjacent as well as a warming kitchen for staff or catering. The left wing provides most of the office space for the administration with four private offices, an open office area for the accounting departments and a central copy mail distribution center. The right wing of the building provides over 7,000-sq. ft. of office and conference space for the local Home Health branch, MEPCO services and OSHA and plumbing inspectors’ offices. A separate entrance and waiting area are provided for the Environmental Department with a large custom service counter, as well as filing space and offices for 14 environmentalists. The building is positioned behind the original health clinic with employee parking and vehicle access for deliveries in the rear of the building. A covered patio for employee breaks overlooks a landscaped grassy lawn area that was designed to provide integration with the surrounding residential neighborhood.
